Scrap the digital rooftops programme
Friday, 11th October 2019
• I REFER to the letter (Phone mast safety is an issue that must be tackled, September 19) – at a time when environmental health scientists tackle serious global issues such as climate change and chemical toxicants in public health, there is an urgent need to address so-called electrosmog.
Some government health authorities have recently taken steps to reduce public exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation by regulating use of wireless devices by children and recommending preferential use of wired communication devices in general, but this ought to be a co-ordinated international effort.
Lloyd’s of London underwriters will not cover claims linked with RF/MW radiation. They are now among a growing number of similarly unsupportive insurance companies.
I certainly have not given consent for any mobile masts to be installed anywhere near my home (see Letters, August 9); 5G is a breach of the Nuremberg Code which requires informed consent. Camden Council’s digital rooftop programme, which is promoting the installation of 5G, must be halted.
I am not against technology but I want safe technology. The wireless industry has admitted they have no studies showing that 5G is safe, and have no plans to do any.
The health of Camden’s citizen’s children, pregnant women and vulnerable groups are all in great danger. It is an emergency now and the programme must be stopped.
