SCORES of specially selected footballers from the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League were given one hell of a Halloween treat yesterday (Wednesday) when they lined up against Premiership opposition at the Hub.
Players aged from nine to 15 were chosen to represent the league in a series of friendly matches against youth teams from Norwich City FC at Regent’s Park. And as if that wasn’t enough, there were also scouts from a number of top professional clubs watching from the sidelines to see just how the players got on.
Ash Rahman, who runs the league with Will Cave, said: “This is by far the biggest thing the league has ever been involved in. It was a huge opportunity for all the players involved and they should all feel very proud in being part of what was a historic event for the league.”
To find out just how well the Camden and Islington players got on, and if anyone got snapped up by a professional club, check out our sports pages next week.
