HAMPSTEAD had to settle for a point away at Hornsey on Saturday despite another blistering display with the bat by Ben Scott.

Scott scored 167 off 164 balls in his opening match in Division One of the Middlesex County Cricket League. So there should have been little surprise when he was finding the boundary again at the weekend as he hit 12 fours and a six on his way to scoring 90 off 108 balls.

His efforts helped Hampstead notch up 306-6 off 59 overs before declaring.

Sumeet Sharma did his best to make it a winning score as he took six wickets for 43 runs in 15 overs.

Hosts Hornsey, however, held on to earn a winning draw as they finished their 61 over innings on 224-8.

In Division Two a seven-wicket haul from Jaron Semper saw North Middlesex beat Southgate by four wickets.
