Say yes to safe and healthy streets
Thursday, 11th February 2021
• CAMDEN Council’s King Henry’s Road area Safe and Healthy Streets initiative would be a welcome improvement to our neighbourhood in Primrose Hill.
The resulting decrease in traffic in the area, if the proposals were introduced, would lead to cleaner air and safer streets for school children, the elderly and all other vulnerable residents in the area.
Low traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs) are supported by campaigners such as Olympian Chris Boardman and politicians as diverse as Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, and Boris Johnson, PM.
Johnson is quoted in Cycling Weekly as saying: “There is always opposition to these schemes but, as the polls show and as I found in London, the majority support them and we should crack on.”
As the Camden Conservatives are standing on a manifesto of a “cleaner, greener, safer Camden”, I hope they will join me in getting behind their leader’s commitment to LTNs and fully back the Camden Council’s proposals.
