IT was more than just their kit that resembled Barcelona on Saturday as talented young footballers from Sapo Verde FC won the Camden and Islington Midweek Youth League Development Cup at Market Road.

Led by player-of-the-tournament Ralph Wright, the skilful Under-8s side were in unstoppable form as they scored 26 goals and conceded just once on their way to winning the 10-team tournament at the artificial pitches in Islington.

Delighted manager Sean McCarthy, who runs the team with his son Frankie, said: “They’re a special bunch. I don’t think this will be the only trophy we win this season.”

The club is currently looking for new players aged four to 13 years. Anyone interested should call Sean on 07947 207946 for details.
