THERE was plenty of praise for "real deal" Alexis Sanchez on Saturday after the Arsenal attacker inspired his side to a 3-0 victory over Burnley.
The Chilean forward capped a man-of-the-match display with two goals, while fellow new recruit Calum Chambers also scored his first goal for the club.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said streetwise Sanchez played with "desire and determination" and was starting to really dictate games now that he's settled into English football.
"The way he jumped for the ball for his first goal showed real desire," said the Frenchman. "Sanchez is really dangerous. He is confident and is physically strong. He likes to take people on and run with the ball."
After seeing his side muster 31 attempts at goal, a content Wenger added: "Overall it was very satisfying. It is important to have confidence in the team by winning without conceding a goal."
Just when Arsenal fans started banging their fists in frustration at Burnley's resolute defending – entwined with the home side's wastefulness in front of goal – Sanchez struck.
Chambers found space on the right and crossed a dangerous ball into the box, where Sanchez out-jumped taller defenders to head the Gunners into a 70th-minute lead.
Chambers then got in the act to double the lead two minutes later, stabbing home from close range following a goalmouth scramble.
The biggest cheers of the night, however, came in the 80th minute when Theo Walcott replaced Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to make his first appearance since damaging his knee against Spurs in January.
He was soon in the thick of action, forcing a save from Tom Heaton, while fellow substitute, Lukas Podolski, also brought the best out of the Burnley keeper with a neat scissor-kick.
Sanchez wrapped up the win in the 90th minute when he controlled a pass from Kieran Gibbs before running on and tapping in from close range.
"In recent home games, we haven't been patient, and we were punished. Now we are more balanced," said Wenger.
