The former Gap clothing shop will become another branch of Sainbury’s

ANOTHER Sainsbury’s is to open in Camden Town, less than a minute’s walk from the company’s mega supermarket.

The new store will be in Parkway, next to the Odeon cinema and opposite the Jazz Cafe music venue. It is moving to a large unit which was home to a branch of the Gap clothing retailer until 2021. The shop has remained vacant ever since.

Sainsbury’s has applied to Camden Council for a licence to open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It hopes to sell alcohol from 8am to 11pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 10.30pm on Sunday.

The supermarket giants also have a Sainsbury’s Local store at  the south end of Camden High Street close to Koko.
