Rubbish in Camden Gardens doesn’t bode well for a ‘highline’
Thursday, 7th March 2024
• MANY readers will have noticed the huge amount of rubbish in Camden Gardens, the public park at the junction of Kentish Town Road and Camden Street.
Many readers, like me, have probably reported this rubbish via Camden’s app, Love Clean Streets, and are similarly frustrated that the report gets closed without any action.
Yes there are some homeless people sleeping there; one would have thought Camden would be prioritising finding shelter for them.
A phone call to Camden gets the reply that you have to find the outsourced contractor to deal with it yourself, but they don’t know the phone number.
One would have thought the contractor was already dealing with the problem on a daily basis, but apparently not.
Camden Gardens is supposed to be the starting point for the Camden Highline project but the council’s inability to clean up rubbish or find accommodation for homeless people there does not bode well for the success of that enterprise.
