Rising price of picked onions = gentrification?

HIGH-priced pickled onions are a sign of growing gentrification, fans of the tangy treat warn. A resident contacted the New Journal saying fish and chip shops in Kilburn are now charging an eye-watering 80p per onion. Jayne Dyas, from British Onion Growers Association, said: “The increase is due to added value costs after the raw material has been purchased.”
