MANAGER Shelley Kerr is full of confidence for the season ahead after adding two World Cup winners to her Arsenal Ladies roster, writes Catherine Etoe.
The Gunners lost several key players in the winter, including talismanic midfielders Kim Little and Katie Chapman, and striker Ellen White.

But former Scotland skipper Kerr has added several new faces to the squad, including Japan striker Shinobu Ohno, 30, and defender Yukari Kinga, 29.
And the Arsenal boss is adamant that the two world champions, who are also Olympic silver medallists, will have a major impact on her team as it looks to “move on”.

“Players leave clubs all the time but what was important for us was to bring in the right type of players,” she said.

“They are very humble, you wouldn’t believe they won the World Cup, they are very respectful and disciplined.

“It’s not just any player you want to bring to the club, they need to have the right attitude and character and they have those qualities in abundance.”

Arsenal kick off their FA Women’s Super League season on March 16 when they are away to Ellen White’s new side Notts County.
