Rethink the timetable on consultation on school closure

Carlton school
• REGARDING the current consultation on the proposed closure of Carlton school, I suggest that Camden Council rethinks its timetable for deciding on the proposals.
A second lockdown starts today (Thursday) and will last till December 2, almost the end of school term, or possibly even longer.
Many of the families and community members affected by Carlton’s closure do not have easy online access to further consultations on Carlton’s future or for running their daily lives.
The impact of coronavirus Covid-19 falls particularly heavily on this community in terms of unemployment, health, the risk of catching the virus and the potential for further school closures.
Surely in the interests of fairness and democracy, Camden’s timetable for consultation and decision-making should be changed to reflect the terrible circumstances in which the community and country finds itself?
This is only right and fair. The decision will have considerable impact on the lives of parents, school staff, and the wider community, who must be allowed sufficient time to consider the issues fully.
