HAWK Colin Cottrell has set his sights on causing one of the upsets of the season when he takes on defending champion Chris Heim in the last-16 of the Chalk Farm Pool League Singles Cup.

Colin, who is an antiques restorer by trade, has mastered the cue in more ways than one having taken to crafting his own hand-spliced cues in his spare time.

On Monday he chipped in with a solid display in the doubles to help King’s Cross Hawks chalk up an impressive 6-3 win over the Boston Rimmers.

Colin is going to have to be at his very best if he’s going to prey on Heim, who displayed his usual razor-sharp skills on Monday night as Sir Robert Peel extended their lead at the top of the division one table.

Peel eased to a 6-3 away win over the Peckwater Playboys, a result that leaves them 29 points clear of the chasing pack having won 14 of their 15 games so far this season.
