Residents’ health is being damaged as well as the property!

• I LIVE in a flat which has had persistent leaks from the soil stack dating back years.

The latest in a long series of leaks commenced in late 2023 and, despite multiple reports to Camden repairs and the neighbourhood housing officer, it has not been repaired.

I have had multiple visits by plumbers as well as a visit by the damp and mould team to no avail.

I suspect the council is running up substantial costs trying to avoid carrying out the necessary repairs rather than address the issue.

The fabric of an 18-storey block is being damaged by water ingress but Camden seem unwilling to take steps to protect the integrity of their housing stock.

Residents’ property and health is being damaged and officers pass the buck back and forth.

Meanwhile, instead of getting the basics right, the council indulge in vanity projects which have no benefit whatsoever to their tenants.
