Residents charged for a service they have not been receiving

Thursday, 1st October 2020

• ON April 6 Camden Council’s 18,000 estate residents saw their caretaking charge increase by £1.10p per week of which 94p was for Camden’s “New Enhanced Caretaking”.

This new service was not introduced owing to Covid-19 and was planned to be introduced in September 2020. However, Camden Council have been collecting the extra charge weekly from April 6.

So far they have collected more than £350,000 for a service they have not been providing. Will Cllr Meric Apak please explain why Camden are at present refusing to reimburse these residents?
