Removal of road crossing central reservation is deplorable
Thursday, 13th October 2022
• AS a former parent of two children who attended St Paul’s primary, and as one who actively campaigned for a zebra crossing to be placed outside the school, I utterly deplore Camden’s callous attitude in removing the essential central reservation from this crossing, thereby requiring pedestrians to negotiate traffic travelling in both directions when crossing; intimidating to children, the elderly, and disabled, in particular.
Does someone have to be knocked down before the council considers the needs of the less able members of our borough?
As for preventing traffic from using this road at certain times, this will only result in detours of many miles, there being no reasonable alternative routes, with overall increases in both congestion to local streets and much increased levels of pollution.
Trial period? No this will never be a trial. Arrogant Camden Council never listen to residents’ views.
