TEAM Camden can officially be dubbed the front-runners of Finsbury Park after they continued their long running success at the Inter Borough Challenge on Sunday by winning the prestigious Road Race Trophy for the 15th year in a row.

Competing in a series of races ranging from Under-7s to Under-17s, the 72-strong squad of record-breakers all played their part as Camden outscored rival teams from Islington, Hackney, City of London and Haringey.

Highlights of the day included Daisy Griffin, Costanza Di Borgoricco and Kira Rothwell finishing first, second and third in their U-15s race to earn Camden a clean sweep of the medals. There was also success for the reliable Georgia Fear who was quickest over 2.5km in the girls’ Under-17s race, while her sister Sasha finished second in the girls’ Under-13s race.

There were also silver medals for club-mates Tal Pelmont and Alastair Sleeman, who both finished second in their respective Under-15s and Under-17s races.

The team is co-ordinated and managed by Ben Dorsett from Camden Sport and Physical Activity Service and supported by Graham Norris from Highgate Harriers Athletics Club.

All Camden athletes who ran on the day have now been selected to represent the borough in the mini marathon on Sunday April 26.
