BASKETBALL is the latest sport to undergo a facelift in a bid to encourage more youngsters to take to the court.

Coaches from B2B held a half term competition at Parliament Hill School in Highgate to help introduce boys and girls to their new and improved rules.

Under the clarion call “it takes two to rumble”, teams consisting of a maximum four players took part in two-on-two games using only half of the court.

The game changes are aimed at making the game even faster while improving skill and ball control. B2B founder Joseph Maye, who organised the event with Kieran Matthews after receiving funding from Camden Council, said: “A lot of sports like boxing and cricket have introduced new formats to attract a fresh, new audience at a grassroots level.

“We’re trying to engage young people through sport to offer them a brighter future, and tournaments like B2B will help us achieve that.”
