• ON Saturday I was given a Lib Dem leaflet which claimed that they were “winning here in Hampstead and Kilburn”.

It had a bar chart that claimed that the Lib Dems got 39 per cent of the vote in the “most recent election”.

I had to get a magnifying glass to read the small print that explained that this was the estimated local result from the EU election.

The leaflet appeared to want to persuade local voters that it’s a two-horse race locally between Labour and Lib Dems.

In fact in the last general election the Lib Dem vote was 7 per cent, 30,000 behind Labour.

Don’t be taken in by a party that is twisting facts. Let’s have an honest contest locally.
