Leyland’s new store in Haverstock Hill, formerly a bank and a fireplace showroom

• WHILE the good people of Camden Town are subjected to the worst and most garish visual excesses of capitalist commerce, their fellow citizens up the hill in Belsize Park have reached for the smelling salts and cried out in horror at DIY chain Leyland’s “brightly coloured” signage on its new store (‘Tacky, garish… it’ll bring down house prices’, October 24).

Is this levelling up? Or down? Puuhhlease!
