Kentish Town FC Under-11s

Published: 20 August, 2015

HOW does a team of budding young footballers count down the days until the new youth league season kicks off?

By playing plenty of football and winning silverware, of course!

Players from Kentish Town FC have enjoyed a silver summer while they wait for the Camden and Islington Midweek Youth League and the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League to return to action in September.

But far from taking a well-earned rest, the club’s Under-11s side were celebrating this summer as they won the annual AFST Tournament in Hendon for the second year in a row, having won it as Under-10s last season.

Terrific Town went though the entire tournament unbeaten, but did have to survive a scare in the semi-finals when they came from behind to beat Focus Football Newham on penalties.

Led by their manager TJ O’Leary, who is also the elite squad development coach at Chelsea Ladies, Kentish Town put in a five-star showing in the final.

Hotshot Denny Smith grabbed four goals, while the unstoppable Sol Alidor-Hamilton, who helped himself to four assists, also scored as Town ran out 5-0 winners against TFA.
