MATCH winner Simon Collings warmed up for his dream meeting with midfield idols Emmanuel Petit and Patrick Vieira by scoring both goals for Crouch End Rangers at the weekend.

His double-strike wrapped up a 2-1 victory over The Hurricanes to keep Rangers’ invincible season in the Camden Sunday League alive and kicking.

The lifelong Arsenal fan rescued Rangers with his quick-fire double after The Hurricanes had taken a surprise lead at Hackney Marshes.

Collings, who works for sports agency Hayters, celebrated the win in style just a few hours later as he attended a black-tie event at The Savoy in London, where the Football Writers’ Association paid tribute to Gunners’ legend Vieira.

The Frenchman captained The Invincibles of Arsenal to a legendary unbeaten season in the Premier League in 2004, and he wished Collings luck with Rangers’ title run-in as they also look to finish their current campaign without tasting defeat.

The 2-1 win over The Hurricanes leaves Crouch End four points clear at the top of Division One with eight wins and two draws from 10 games.  With six games left, Rangers look set to become The Invincibles of the Camden Sunday League.
