Cycling on the pavement a sign of the times?

• WALKING on the Prince of Wales Road pavement, a respectable-looking woman cyclist has mounted the pavement on Haverstock Hill and races round the corner.

As usual, I impotently shout “Get off the pavement”. The reply? Not the usual expletive, but “Why?” Sign of the times?
