Queen’s Crescent Market’s decline is sad

Thursday, 27th July 2023

• THE problem with Queen’s Crescent Market is obvious, but the problem is that Camden Council can never accept they have made a mistake.

As one of the stallholders put it, “the council’s pedestrianisation has driven away customers”.

As a frequent visitor to the area I have seen this decline, from a vibrant community market to a now defunct one. Very sad.

Additionally I have a relative who lives in the sheltered accommodation above the library, Ashdown Crescent.

Did anyone even think about how the road closure would affect these residents? They can no longer get lifts or cabs from their front door and there is also a problem with deliveries.

I think it’s scandalous.
