HUNDREDS of excited fight fans packed into the Irish Centre in Camden Town on Thursday to enjoy 12 blazing bouts of boxing courtesy of St Pancras ABC.
The club, which is based in Talacre Road, Kentish Town, hosted their eagerly-awaited open show. The epic night of action saw the Saints field fighters in nine bouts, winning seven.
Debutant Liam O’Hagan-Mallon from Highgate was crowned the fighter of the night after making a winning start to his amateur career, while Mir Baloch from Kentish Town was also singled out for praise after putting in a commanding performance.
Trainer “Big” Lewis Fattahi, who helps senior coach CJ Hussein run the club, said he couldn’t have hoped for a more perfect show. “The whole St Pancras family helped ensure that the show ran like clockwork. It was seamless, we couldn’t have hoped for more.
“The crowds really enjoyed what was an unbelievable night of precision boxing. The standard on show was exceptional.
“All our fighters made us proud, especially Liam and Mir, who are only at the very beginning of what promises to be successful amateur careers.”
