• EDIE Raff is completely correct (Let’s boycott the council’s planning consultations, July 25).

I have been involved with planning disputes in Aberdeen, Newcastle, Leeds and Northumberland, as well as Camden; and public consultations are a joke.

The issues have, in the majority of cases, already been decided and in all of the above councils such consultations are just a tick-the-box exercise.
