PROMOTION hopefuls The Boot are determined to pocket a place in the top flight of the Chalk Farm Pool League.
Captain Peter Morris (pictured) led the second division side to a 5-4 victory over King’s Cross rivals Cock Tavern Aloysius on Monday. Promotion rivals Peckwater TA boast a seven-point buffer over The Boot after they chalked up a resounding 8-1 win over RPTA – but crucially, Morris’s men have a game in hand.
In Division One, the race to beat the drop gathered pace with The Lion catapulting themselves towards safety with an 8-1 victory over relegation rivals Slattery’s Squatters, who are two points adrift at the bottom of the table.
POW Dynamos are second from bottom following their 8-1 defeat at the hands of league leaders and champions elect Sir Robert Peel.
Meanwhile, the battle of King’s Cross saw The Hurricanes emerge 5-4 winners against The Hawks.
