TABLE-TOPPERS Primrose Hill will be looking to start the new year where they left off after ending 2012 two points clear of their nearest rivals in the Under-10s “A” Division of the Camden and Islington Youth League.
The club hit top form just before the winter break as they netted a hat-trick of wins, including a 3-0 victory over Islington Admiral.
After a goalless first half against Admiral, central defender Sergije Zizic opened the scoring in spectacular style with a well-struck volley into the top corner, a strike that many onlookers were calling “the goal of the season”. Leo Haralambous doubled the advantage, before Rudy Law wrapped up three decisive points.
Primrose Hill coach Garrie Mayers said after the game: “That was a great all-round performance. Composed throughout, peppered with some incisive passing and a moment of genius from Sergije for the first goal.”
