AFTER nearly four months of thrilling action teams from two of Camden’s top primaries can now  proudly boast to have the best young footballers in the borough.

The boys’ team from Holy Trinity and St Silas School in Hartland Road, Camden Town, and the girls’ squad from Rosary School in Haverstock Hill, Belsize Park, have been crowned champions in the Camden Schools Sports Association Football League.

They have now won the right to represent the borough in the prestigious School Games, where they will take on rival teams from across the capital.

Over all, 31 schools entered the Year 5 and 6 league, which kicked off in November at the Talacre Community Sports Centre in Kentish Town.

Among the other schools celebrating were Carlton in Queen’s Crescent, who finished as runners-up in the boys’ league, and St Aloysius in Somers Town (pictured centre), who were the runners up in the girls’ competition.

All the schools will be back in action after Easter when the Camden Schools Sports Association hold their swimming championships.
