‘For too long everybody in the political world has ignored the escalating price of property’

• LAST I heard there were tens of thousands of flats shooting up all over London, usually in inappropriate locations, and almost entirely unaffordable by anyone not already on the property ladder and with prices soaring far out of sight.

So there are plenty of homes lying empty which should be brought into use now. For too long everybody in the political world has ignored the escalating price of property as billionaires build more “cash boxes in the sky”.

It’s time somebody started doing something about this monstrous issue which is pricing all but millionaires out of London; and not many of them are doing useful jobs, like teaching children, helping in hospitals, cleaning our streets, and so on.
