The body of a man has been recovered from Highgate Men’s Pond today.
The popular bathing spot was shut on Saturday afternoon after reports of a missing person. Divers continued to trawl the pond in Hampstead Heath and today recovered the body of a man said to be in his mid 50s. The family have been informed.
The Met said the death is being dealt with as unexplained.

A spokesperson for the City of London Corporation said: “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of the deceased at this sad time.
“We are continuing to support the Metropolitan Police Service as they conclude their activity on site.
“The Men’s Pond will remain closed and will be reopened once these investigations are complete.”
The Kenwood Ladies Pond was also closed for part of yesterday after a “medical incident”.
