POLICE are investigating reports of a sexual assault on the towpath of Regent’s Canal.

Police were called at around 04.15am on Monday, March 13, to Regents Canal near Camden Road to a report from a third party of a suspected sexual assault at the location.

Officers attended and spoke with the informant. The victim was not at the scene.

Detectives from Central North Safeguarding are investigating and making inquiries to locate the victim.

A small police cordon was set up this morning on the canal close to the stairway that leads to Camden Road. At around 10am two people from forensics were seen searching the area.
