POLICE in armour swooped on Finchley Road yesterday (Wednesday) to arrest an aggravated burglary suspect.

Members of the Met’s Territorial Support Group (TSG) and plain clothes officers were seen entering a property via Lithos Road just before 11am.

Officers were seen wearing helmets and carrying riot shields as they walked past shops on one of the main roads into the capital to begin the operation.

A Met spokesman said the arrest was pre-planned and it believed the person in question had a history of being violent towards officers so more protective kit was used than normal as a precaution.
