Police have been asked their opinion on the garden plan

Friday, 3rd May 2019

• I’D like to clarify something in your article, (Residents rail against bid to open up garden, April 25).

At the Hampstead Safer Neighbourhood Panel meeting on April 15, attended by a number of Oriel Court residents, it was agreed the police should be asked again to assess the implications for increased anti-social behaviour, particularly at night, if this space is opened up.

No one seems to be able to trace the original police consultation or the specific advice given. I have therefore asked the Hampstead police Safer Neighbourhoods Team to visit the site and meet residents to discuss their concerns and for the police to give their opinion on the risks of increased anti-social behaviour.

The team know Hampstead very well and so are ideally placed to give an opinion.
