• I FULLY understand that there is an urgent need to take action to stop the tragic and scandalous level of violence against women and girls, but sending a couple of police officers to poke about in the bushes on Hampstead Heath strikes me as being the ultimate in tokenistic desperation, (‘Flasher patrols’ in Heath woodlands as police crack down on indecent acts, October 28).

I hope more serious measures are being considered.
