Perhaps they don’t want us to leave Somers Town!

• I TRIED to take someone in a taxi to UCLH hospital last week and was reduced to road rage… and I am not a car driver.

The reason? A journey that normally should take three minutes is now rendered near impossible by Camden Council’s over-zealous traffic bollarding in the middle of Euston Road, meaning we could not turn right out of Chalton Street and, since Judd Street has no right turn, the journey ended up taking over half an hour.

As well as the restrictions posed by the over-wide cycle lanes (and I am a cyclist) and endless Eversholt Street bus disruption, it seems that the less mobile residents of Somers Town are doomed to being imprisoned here, and much as we love the noise and dirt, sometimes they may need to leave.

Perhaps they don’t want us to leave. We can’t anyway at this rate.
