People are being priced out of resident parking
Thursday, 10th October 2024
• I WONDER why Camden Council is considering permitting the development of the Royal College Street sub-station site into parking for 30 vehicles?
Of these only 10 spaces will be “electric”. And at the same time they are putting up street parking charges to price people out of their resident permits, unless they have new, low emission cars.
The claim that the change of use will be carbon-neutral is disingenuous given that it will free up 20+ spaces in a local car park, just when all the new flats on Royal College Street (no parking permits attached) are completed.
It is also notable that since the planning application went in last year it appears the site has already been tarmacked over and many cars and vans appear to be parked there, despite a decision being pending.
