Hampstead Heath litter

Litter left on Hampstead Heath

• THE two photos, the first taken at 7pm on bank holiday Monday, the second at 7.30am on Tuesday, show just one of many areas where rubbish was left.

The non-distancing of people in open spaces is clearly indicated in the first picture (below) which, incidentally, does nothing to show the number of people on the Heath.

And the second picture goes nowhere near demonstration the disgusting mess left all over the fields to the rear of the lido and in front of the running track.

When I walked along that area on Tuesday at about 7.30am, together with fellow walkers, joggers, and dog-walkers, I was horrified at what had been left. Pathways were littered with broken bottles as well as every kind of rubbish imaginable.

The area where the photo shows the multiple gathering was particularly bad. Obviously those people just chose to ignore all the notices around the entrances to the Heath, asking for people to take their litter home.

Everyone who was there and left their rubbish should be totally ashamed of themselves.
