THERE was no shortage of silky skills or glorious goals on Friday as scores of top football teams from across Camden and Islington ran out at Coram’s Fields to tackle one of north London’s largest five-a-side youth tournaments.

Among the heroes in this year’s Camden Unity Cup was AFC goalkeeper Abraham Henao who showed cat-like reflexes as he dived to his right to save a penalty and give his side a crucial advantage in the Under-14s Cup final.

It proved a decisive moment as team-mates Ethan Irvine, Kieron Loughney and Danai Kapfunde all kept their cool to score in a nail-biting pentalty shoot-out and earn AFC (pictured above) a 3-2 victory against Big Kid Foundation after the game had ended goalless in normal time.

AFC missed out on a cup double as they lost on penalties against Camden District (pictured below) in the Under-12s Cup final. Emeka Ukaegbu gave AFC the lead, but Binyam Mesfin equalised for the District team to force penalties, where composed finishes from Danny Cochrane, Rafiq Khaleel and Dion Sfarca captured the cup for Camden.

It also took penalties to separate the finalists (pictured below) in the Under-10s Cup as Kentish Town United (dark blue) took on club-mates Kentish Town Athletic.

United took the lead through Denny Smith, but Sol Hamilton soon levelled the scores for Athletic to set-up another shoot-out. Smith, Malakai Hamilton and Benji Wells all scored for United, while their goalkeeper, Arlo Doherty, also made a stunning save to seal a thrilling cup victory.

Meanwhile in the Under-16s Cup final goals from James Clare and Jack Madden saw Somers Town Future (pictured above) crowned champions with a 2-0 victory over Big Kid Foundation.
