ARSENAL Ladies return to action on Sunday for the first time in almost a month when they step out onto the pitch at the Manchester Regional Arena to face newly-formed Manchester City in the Women’s Super League.

The Gunners will be hoping that they can avoid a repeat of the result when the two teams met in May, which saw Man City win 1-0 at Meadow Park thanks to a goal from Toni Duggan.

The north Londoners may be a little bit rusty in front of goal considering they haven’t played since July 27, when they drew 1-1 against Notts County.

Young Gunners meet the Arsenal Ladies stars

Despite that result, young supporters had plenty of reason to cheer on the day as they got the chance to meet the stars – including Kelly Smith – after signing up for a free festival fanzone.
