PUNTERS at the Dublin Castle in Camden Town were treated to a surprise visit from stars of two of Britain’s biggest bands on Wednesday.

Madness frontman Suggs – real name Graham McPherson – turned up at the famous pub and music venue in Parkway on a horse-drawn carriage on his way to the Q Awards at the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm Road, where he picked up the Q Hall of Fame award in recognition of the band’s years of success.

He was briefly joined by old friend Paul Weller, formerly of The Jam, who posed for a picture with the pub’s landlady Peggy Conlon.

Suggs even made a brief appearance at the monthly meeting of the Camden Inner London Licensees Association (CILLA), providing a light break from the discussions about business rates and crime prevention.
