PARALYMPIAN John Worrall surprised scores of young sports fans when he turned up at the Sobell Leisure Centre in Finsbury Park to deliver a coaching masterclass.
John, who has gained more than 40 caps for Team GB, made his Paralympic debut at London 2012 as part of the men’s sitting volleyball squad.
He has since been appointed the official patron of Club Islington, an organisation offering Paralympic and adapted sports for 11 to 25-year-olds with disabilities.
After putting on a series of successful volleyball sessions at the centre in Hornsey Road, John said: “It was brilliant to be part of such a fantastic day and great to see a group of enthusiastic participants for the sport I love. Long may it continue.”
Run by Disability Sports Coach in partnership with Aquaterra, the club meets at the Sobell centre every Saturday 11am to 1pm.
