Bagel, the missing Lovebird
THE owner of a pet lovebird missing in Camden Town is offering a £200 reward for his safe return.
Peach-faced Bagel escaped through the balcony doors of Rose Su’s flat when she opened the doors during the heatwave.
“I never imagined that Bagel would be able to fly outside,” she said.
“Looking back, I know it was my mistake and I deeply regret it. Bagel had never really learned to fly. Since the day we brought him home, he had always preferred climbing and hopping rather than flying.
“The furthest he would ever go was fluttering from one perch to another, so we always let him roam freely around our flat instead of keeping him in a cage.”

Ms Su discovered Bagel was missing when she returned home from work and called his name, but he didn’t appear as usual.
She said: “I searched every corner of the flat, even every pocket of every piece of clothing, hoping he had somehow hidden himself. I ran downstairs calling his name and playing recordings of lovebird calls, hoping he would respond. There was nothing.”
She spent six hours searching the neighbourhood and put up dozens of posters around Camden, and while many “kind strangers” stopped to help there was still no sign of the yellow bird.
“Since then, I have gone out every single day to look for him,” said Ms Su.
“I still don’t know where Bagel is or whether I’ll ever find him. But as long as there is even the smallest chance that he is still out there, I will keep looking,” she said.
“I hope that one day, somehow, he will find his way back home.”
