The Budweiser mural in Ferdinand Street

AFTER a season in which Arsenal finally claimed the Premier League title, you might have thought US beer giants Budweiser would have picked some of the Gunners playing for England at the World Cup for a new “interactive” mural in Chalk Farm.

Despite its location in prime north London opposite the Camden Assembly – the music venue soon to be the Barfly again – there’s nobody from Spurs or Chelsea either.

Instead, giant faces of Jordan Pickford – his huge mouth provides a window outlet for the building in Ferdinand Street – Ollie Watkins and John Stones have appeared in the advertisement.

New Journal readers on our Facebook page were less bothered about the players chosen to look over the road and were more concerned with how it appeared. “Looks as bad as their beers taste,” said one.

Another added: “It looks awful – they look like they hate everyone.”

The New Journal’s Facebook page is viewed more than three million times a month – and is the source of daily debates about things, big and small, happening in Camden.
