Our postal delivery service is simply not delivering

‘I have been complaining for over six weeks about the erratic service in our area’
• I FULLY support the complaint made in your July 1 paper about the postal service in NW3, (The sorting office should sort it).
I have been complaining for over six weeks about the erratic service in our area with no signs of improvement.
A phone call to 03457 740 740, when the phone is finally answered, gets a sympathetic hearing and the mantra that it will take three days to sort. If only!
There is no sign that this is happening. We are fortunate if our post is dumped in the correct part of the estate.
We have six doors, all clearly labelled with the numbers of the flats inside, but in some cases it is dumped in the wrong building and in all cases no attempt is made to deliver it to the flats.
When I have complained and tried to include other flats I have been told the problems must be reported by the individual residents. I have encouraged my neighbours and friends in this postal area to do the same.
After threatening last Wednesday to write to you if I did not get some satisfaction before Tuesday about the appalling state of affairs I received a phone call early Thursday morning showing some concern and listening to a summary of the dreadful treatment we were getting.
I was assured that something would be done. We are still waiting.
Even if post is delivered into the correct building it is not delivered to the individual flats but left inside the front door, often lying about for days. Not everyone goes in and out regularly, every day, some people are even out at work!
I am able to watch the delivery trolley from my kitchen window and see that it is left unattended for considerable periods of time in full view of everyone passing on Finchley Road, while the operative wanders off round the estate clutching the deliveries including small packages. I wonder if the letter container has been locked?
This is not good enough.
