Our plans for representing you as councillors for South Hampstead ward

Friday, 20th May 2022

• AS newly-elected councillors for South Hampstead we would like to thank residents for their support during the election campaign.

We absolutely loved getting out on the doors and speaking to thousands of you about the local issues that matter most.

A special thanks must go to those residents who gave their time so generously to campaign alongside us, without whom we would not have achieved our resounding victory.

With the election behind us we are now focused on representing the people of South Hampstead in order to deliver a cleaner, safer, and greener local area.

We would like to take this opportunity to reiterate that we will always seek to represent the views of all residents irrespective of political leaning or past campaigning activity.

The hard work has already begun; last week, Camden lodged a bid to fund sustainable urban drainage greening in several locations in the ward.

This will make South Hampstead more resilient in the face of future flooding and increasingly frequent bouts of extreme weather; the kind of change that we will always seek to deliver for South Hampstead.

We are arranging to meet Thames Water soon to press them for the greater network capacity the area needs to become more resilient.

We also want to work with residents to raise concerns about the flooding insurance access some households are now being denied.

We look forward to engaging with residents over the coming weeks, months, and years and want to kick off our term with a series of street surgeries so we can keep listening to your concerns and desires for the local area.

These will start next month and will be advertised in due course. We can’t wait to work with you all and represent your voice in the council chamber.
