HS2 protest in Euston Square
• A DOZEN years ago Holborn & St Pancras had a principled MP who stood up for his residents.
Here, pictured above, is the proof, Frank Dobson standing shoulder-to-shoulder with us in Euston Square. Our HS2 protest all those years ago has proved to be depressingly prescient.
Sadly Frank’s successor Sir Keir Starmer MP talks out of both sides of his mouth: platitudes to us residents while “kowtowing” to the unions and advocating building the whole of HS2.
He’s shown the same gutless hypocrisy on ULEZ, the ultra low emission zone, where he has expediently back-pedalled on expanding it, blaming his own party’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, instead of standing up firm for Londoners’ health.
For years both Camden Council and our MP have been worse than useless on HS2. Now would be a very good time, Sir Keir, to stand up for your constituents and speak out against HS2 at Euston, to free the area from its prospective years of blight.
