Our experience at the Rec vaccination centre was positive

The vaccination situation at the Royal Free Charity Recreation Club premises
• WE would like to refute the impression given in the letter (Proper safety measures were not in place here, January 21) that the vaccination centre in the Rec Club in Fleet Road was not safe.
Our experience was that it was safely distanced and extremely efficiently organised.
It is a shame that Alan Margolis did not go in to see this, as we saw a one-way system for entrance and exit with everyone kept well spaced, chairs wiped down as soon as you got up, and so on.
Because the flow was so efficient the public spent the minimum time needed in the centre.
Perhaps the people shown in pairs in the picture (above) were, as Mr Margolis did, couples booking together. We went (separately) last week and have spoken to about a dozen friends and neighbours who also went and had the same excellent experience.
When Jon Snow was equally impressed with the Rec Club on Channel 4 News, doctors expressed concern that people are not signing up for this essential service.
We hope that you will give this positive experience the prominence the negative letter had last week. We would like to thank the staff and cheerful volunteers there for getting through this mammoth task so well.
