Our best wishes to Alice Kilroy

• WE are devastated that Alice Kilroy, our friend, comrade, treasurer and banner-maker, par excellence, has been diagnosed with stage-4 lung cancer.

Alice has been a life-long activist for social justice, for health and peace, against racism, and for a good laugh. She was a primary teacher and a secondary maths teacher.

I got to know her in 2003 when she worked in the national office at Stop the War, was active in the local group as well as making costumes for and dancing in Notting Hill Carnival.

She has been on every Grenfell Silent March. She has been our meticulous treasurer for the past five or so years, guarding every penny we raise and receive!

We love and respect Alice, our comrade and friend. And wish her all the best in her forthcoming treatment.
