Operating a mobile phone while driving is totally unacceptable
Thursday, 15th October 2020
• THE traffic along Heath Street and Haverstock Hill is very bad at the moment.
I walk my son to school on Heath Street and observe drivers, sitting in traffic as well as moving, operating their mobile phones. I have started photographing these incidents.
At a single traffic light change I saw five drivers staring down at their phones, and two of them doing so while they coasted down the road.
This is a serious motoring offence and it is wildly reckless. Whether there’s a school there or not, operating a phone while driving is totally unacceptable.
So far I have reported three of these incidents using the Met police online reporting tool including photos of the drivers and their vehicles. And I am going to continue to do so.
