Object to this charge for motorcycle owners

Thursday, 1st July 2021

• EARLIER this year Camden proposed charging motor-cycle owners who live and work in the borough – but at different addresses – nearly £500 per year for parking.

Over 600 people objected and Unison sent a delegation to a council meeting to argue that this will severely impact largely lower income families.

It seemed that Camden had not fully thought through the implications of this money-earning scheme, inspired by Westminster City Council the only London borough to make similar charges for motorcycles.

There is no sign yet of any revision to the proposals, which are soon due to be discussed again by Camden. I urge anyone who objects to this draconian proposal to let Camden know – email to Brenda.Busingye@camden.gov.uk
